Zeth Ryder

Zeth served in the alliance for a few years, until the day the Ferris Fields colony went missing in 2185. He alerted the Alliance to the incident but was only given vague answers, with blame mostly placed on Batarian slavers despite a lack of evidence for the claim. Not satisfied with the Alliance's lack of involvement, he left them in pursuit of his own answers. While investigating he ran across Cerberus agents in the field who was gathering intel on the missing colonist. During this interaction, he was put in contact with the illusive man, and a briefing was arranged. In this meeting, a job offer to work for Cerberus was extended, with the condition that all files regarding the missing colonists would be sent to Zeth to keep him informed about the investigation.

While working with Cerberus, he was sent to a research lab on a remote planet that was once a prothean world. The main experiment was being run on a new prototype drive core that was to surpass FTL travel. While other projects on the planet were being worked on at the time, Zeth's main job was the new drive. As they conducted their test flight just as they were to activate the drive, they got hit with a subspace anomaly. In an instance, the drive core was activated and they were enveloped with a blue light.

As the light vanished and sensors began to function properly, they were plummeting toward the surface of a planet called Sirun, far away from their previous location. Kevin, their pilot tried reversing thrusters and trying to maneuver as a way to land without killing them, however this caused major stress on the hull that was barely holding together. As the hull began to buckle, the side of the shuttle was ripped open jettisoning both Zeth and his fellow engineer, James. Zeth had managed to survive by landing in the nearby lake, barely escaping drowning and with a few broken ribs as the worst of his injuries.

Eventually he made it to the crash site only to find both Kevin and James had been killed. It was from here he rigged a distress transmitter that eventually led the BluShock team to his location. In the midst of his conversation with Commander Fazzy Constantine, he realized not only had he jumped several thousand light years from his last location but he had also ended up in another reality in the year 2324. Fazzy and the BluShock team answered Zeth's questions, including the fate of the colonist of Ferris Fields who had been abducted by the Collectors. With no home to return to, Zeth accepted the offer to join the BluShock team, bringing his engineering skills to their ranks.

Nirrae

Nirrae is a fairly typical Lorea in many ways, yet exceptional in others. Born and raised aboard the *Saaeiio*, she was immersed in the advanced technological environment of her species from an early age. Her insatiable curiosity and thirst for understanding quickly set her apart. As her aptitude for science and engineering became apparent, it was clear that Nirrae was a prodigy—even among a race renowned for their technical prowess.

Her education was accelerated, with specialized programs designed to nurture her talent. By the time most of her peers were still grasping foundational concepts, Nirrae had already begun exploring the deeper realms of technology and physics, pushing the boundaries of what even the Lorea believed possible. One of her early contributions was the creation of the personal comm-scanner, a device that rapidly became ubiquitous among the Lorea fleet. This marvel of efficiency and innovation was deceptively simple on the surface, but its intricate design made it both highly versatile and power-efficient, capable of running on something as modest as a mechanical spring—an elegant solution to resource limitations.

However, Nirrae’s most significant breakthrough came in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. Her creation, the "Control" platform, revolutionized Lorean automation. This platform provided an adaptable humanoid interface, capable of performing tasks that required the dexterity and problem-solving abilities of a sentient being, yet with the reliability and precision of an AI. The *Control* platform was quickly adopted across the Lorean fleet, automating everything from ship maintenance to delicate scientific research, becoming a cornerstone of Lorean infrastructure.

Her work didn’t stop there. Nirrae continued to refine and expand the *Control* platform, eventually developing a variant designed for the mass galactic market. This version promised to bring the Lorea’s cutting-edge robotics to other species, a rare foray into the wider galactic economy for the typically insular civilization. But just as she was on the cusp of this achievement, tragedy struck. During a journey to showcase her work, her ship was ambushed and destroyed by the Gurido pirates, wiping out much of her progress.

Despite this catastrophic loss, Nirrae’s contributions continue to shape the daily lives of her people. Her legacy lives on in the technology that powers their nomadic existence and in the *Control* platform, which remains a vital part of the Lorean fleet's operations. Even in the aftermath of destruction, Nirrae’s brilliance casts a long shadow over the future of Lorean innovation.
